Juliette Darlene Medley-Robinson's Obituary
Juliette Darlene Medley-Robinson of Rixeyville VA departed this life on October 2, 2017.
Juliette was born November 6, 1960 in Queens New York to the late Mancefield and Essie Lee Pugh-Brown. Julie had a sister Carrie L Brown-Davis, a brother and another sister that preceded her in death. Juliette was educated in the New York public schools, she attended LaGuardia Community College and Phoenix University.
During her early years Julie had a passion for dancing where she studied ballet and Jazz dance. Julie also had a passion for the theatre, she appeared in the off Broadway play Clever Jack and other off Broadway productions. In the 1980’s she was a featured solo dancer in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. Julie was raised in Davis Temple Church of God In Christ under Bishop John H. Davis where she received salvation and was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit.
Julie married in 1982 to Brian D Medley Sr. and from this union was born 4 children, Evrin, Carla, Brian and Jayda Medley. In June 2015 she remarried Nimrod Robinson.
Julie left New York in the early 1980’s and lived in various locations including Italy. She settled in Dale City Virginia in the late 1980’s. She began her 25 year career in Prince William County Government as a records clerk and later became an emergency dispatcher and call taker for 911. She retired in 2016.
After settling in Dale City Virginia Julie joined Harvest Assembly Baptist Church where she loved to praise the Lord through song and dance. She served as choir director, solo singer and was a trainer for the nurses unit. Julie received her call to preach the gospel and was licensed as a Prophetess by Pastor and Founder Dr. Johnnie L. Abram.
Julie was noted for her infectious smile that would light up a room wherever she went. She was extremely humorous, intelligent, caring and nurturing. Julie loved to be around her family and loved being a mother, grandmother, wife, mentor and friend.
Left to cherish her memory her husband Nimrod Robinson, her children, Evrin S. Medley, Carla T. Medley, Brian D. Medley Jr., Jayda D. Medley. Her grandchildren, Isaiah Mclean, Marqkel J. Parker, Iarie Medley, Mekhi Hillsman, Arieyah Debrew, Nehemi D. Medley. Her immediate nieces and nephews, Dayne A. Brown, Leon W. Brown, Jackie S. Davis, Tylaisha B. Davis and Dayne A. Brown Jr. Her aunt Hattie Stevens, an adopted sister Shanell Marcus and adopted niece Shatima Smallwood along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11 am at Harvest Assembly Baptist Church, 8012 Fordson Rd., Alexandria, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11 am at Fairview Cemetery.
