Julia Bayne Alther Sisk's Obituary
Julia Bayne Alther Sisk, 100, of Culpeper, died Monday, June 13, 2022 at Autumn Care of Madison. She was born on August 7, 1921 in Culpeper, to the late Norman Henry Bayne and Frances Kerns Bayne.
Julia loved her church, Black Oak Regular Baptist Church in Rixeyville, and was proud of her attendance records during her 57 year membership. She worked at Southern Garment Factory for 13 years and was owner-operator of Catalpa Country Store for 15 years. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Culpeper Hospital Auxiliary for 26 years accumulating more than 32,000 hours. Julia enjoyed dancing, playing cards, going to the Culpeper Senior Center and watching Judge Judy and Jeopardy.
She is survived by nephew Hugh L. Bayne and his wife, Brenda, of Culpeper; niece, Frances E. Bayne, of Huddleston; great-nephews, Charlie F. Bayne of La Jolla, CA, Michael E. Bayne of Austin, TX, Sixx L. Bayne of Farmville; close friends Theressa and William Compton, and Karen Fox, all of Culpeper; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, Julia is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Davis Sisk; siblings, Johnny Bayne, Richard Bayne, Ben Bayne, Willie Bayne, Charlie Bayne, Daisy Lucas, Mary Woodward, Ella Woodward, Katie Kerns, and Ada Marie Smith; close nieces and nephews, Richard L. Bayne, Sr., Charles H. Bayne, Sr., and Mary L. Brumbles.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Black Oak Regular Baptist Church, 10532 Eggbornsville Rd, Rixeyville, VA 22737 with Elder Wayne Richards officiating. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Fairview Cemetery, Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
