Julia Ann Dolan's Obituary
Julia “Cookie” A. Justice Dolan, 80, of Woodford passed away on January 27, 2022, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Cookie was the only daughter of Ernest E. Justice and Lucille “Lou” Justice. She was born in Beckley, WV on September 19, 1941. The family moved shortly after Cookie was born to High Point, North Carolina. Cookie attended Mars College and High Point University earning a bachelor’s degree in education. She taught elementary school for 45 years in Prince George’s County, Maryland before her retirement in 2008. Cookie loved connecting with new students every year. She was popular with children in her neighborhood and had a passion for strays, both animal and human. There were many of those “strays” who consider her a second mother. She truly enjoyed being at home with her family and pets.
In 2009 Cookie and her husband Ed moved to Woodford, Virginia to be closer to family and friends. Cookie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Joseph Dolan and her grandson John M. Dolan Jr. She is survived by her stepson John M. Dolan Sr., his wife Lisa and her grandchildren Sheena, Chelsea and Rylee.
