Joyce Mae Jenkins Wharton's Obituary
Joyce Mae Jenkins Wharton, 50, of Locust Dale died on Thursday, January 1, 2009 at her residence. She was born June 6, 1958 in Charlottesville, VA to Geneva Marie Taylor Jenkins and the late Carroll Jenkins, Sr.
Mrs. Wharton was a member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She was a very special mother and grandmother who had a heart of gold and was known to many as Juicy Juice.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Michael Dwayne Wharton, Sr. and his wife, Marsha of Jeffersonton, her daughter, Stacy Mae Dodson and her husband, Randall of Jeffersonton, step children, Michael W. Wharton, Jr. of Warrenton, Johnny Wharton of Culpeper, Betty Foster of Front Royal, and special friend, Kenny Foster.
Additional survivors include her siblings, DeeDee Morgan, Henry Jenkins, Sissy Jenkins, Dickie Jenkins, and Carroll Jenkins, Jr., grandchildren, Dwayne Wharton, Jr., Michael Fincham, Destiny Myers, Austin Greer, Elizabeth and Maeleigh Dodson, Michael William Wharton, Jr., Allah Ayers, Jessica Lemon, Bubba Wharton, and Emily and Collin Hunt, special aunt and uncle, Ethel Jenkins and Roger Lee Taylor, five nephews, Michael Creel, Phillip Wharton, Danny Morgan, Timmy Wharton and DJ Jenkins, and five nieces, Chrissy Preston, Amy Hawley, Stephanie Wharton, Ryane Wharton and Angie Geer.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Wharton, Sr., her siblings, Booty Jenkins, Irvin Jenkins and Davis Lee Jenkins, and grandchildren, Taylor Neff Wharton and Chance McKenlee Wharton.
