Joyce Ann Whitlock's Obituary
Joyce Ann Whitlock of Culpeper passed peacefully at UVA Culpeper Medical Center on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 at the age of 81. Joyce was born April 9th, 1944, in Culpeper to the late Roy and Eunice Frazier. Joyce was a lifelong resident of Culpeper County.
Joyce was a member of Culpeper Baptist Church from the time that she was baptized at the age of 8. As a member of the church, she was active with their Wedding Committee and her Sunday School class. During Joyce’s life she was a preschool teacher for over 20 years at Culpeper Baptist Church Child Development Center. Joyce also worked for a number of years at A.G. Richardson Elementary School in the cafeteria. Joyce worked with her sister-in-law, Jean Tutwiler, at Nu-Way Diner for several years. Joyce was a member of the Culpeper Regional Hospital Auxiliary for over 20 years.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth G. Whitlock. Joyce is survived by her children, Karen Denise Whitlock and Kenneth Anthony Whitlock; her granddaughter, Kaitlin Elizabeth Harris; her sister, Madeline Jenkins; her sister-in-law Jean W. Tutwiler; her brother-in-law, Jerry W. Whitlock; and a host of family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Rt. 522, Culpeper, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Culpeper, UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center, and Trinity Hospice for their kindness and compassion shown to Joyce.
