Joyce Gray Weikel's Obituary
Joyce Gray Weikel, 86, of Culpeper passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018 at her residence. She was born January 25, 1932 in Plymouth, NC to the late James and Fannie Bell Stevenson Styons.
Mrs. Weikel attended the Presbyterian Church in Bluefield, WV. She was a hard worker who worked into her 70’s and was an avid gardener. Above all, she loved her children and grandchildren and the relationships she had with them always remembering birthdays, special holidays and simply cherished being near them. She was one of the most humble and caring people.
She is survived by three children, Patricia Ann Mullins of Culpeper, VA, Tammy Lynn Chambers and her husband, David of OH, and William Vance Dunford, III and his wife, Patsy of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Patsy Ann Cundiff; and six grandchildren, Alecia Hamm and her husband, Billy of Madison, VA, Katherine Stewart and her husband, Dustin of Reedville, VA, Stephanie Mullins of Warrenton, VA, Jamie Mullins of Charlottesville, VA, Kristie Whiteley and her husband, Josh of Chestertown, MD; and Doug Nicholson, Jr. of Worton, MD.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Calvin R. Weikel; her second husband, Robert Purdue; her first husband and father of her children, William Vance Dunford, Jr.; and two siblings, James Ray Styons and Delsie Faye.
Services will be private.
The family would like to thank Dr. Devincentis and the staff at Commonwealth Medical for the loving and excellent care they extended to Joyce.
