Joyce P. Settle's Obituary
Joyce P. Settle, of Castleton, VA, passed away on November 12, 2022 at the age of 83. She was born January 5, 1939 in Rappahannock County to the late Raymond and Vivian Cooke.
Joyce is survived by her children, Hushel Junior Settle (Mary) and Joyce A. Compton (Billy); two grandsons, Kevin and Kory Settle; great-grandson, Eric Compton; two great, great-granddaughters; one brother, Robert Cooke; and two sisters, Dorothy Davis and Elizabeth Newcomer.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hushel Settle; one brother, Eugene Cooke; and one grandson, Timothy Lee Compton.
Joyce loved the Lord, and reading her Bible. She was a member of Gourdvine Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and being with her family, as well as spending time out in her flower gardens.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Carl Menefee officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA. Pallbearers serving the family will be Steve Mallory, Bubby Settle, Eddie Wright, Kory Settle, Eric Compton, Josh Creel, and Richard Compton.
