Joyce Lou Darr's Obituary
Joyce Lou Woodard Darr, age 85, of Lumberton, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019, at Wesley Pines Retirement Center in Lumberton.
She was born on September 29, 1933 in Washington, D.C. to the late Horace Lewis Woodard and the late Margaret Finney Woodard. She was formerly employed as a government contractor for the U.S. State Department.
She was a long-time member of Fredericksburg Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, VA. A member of Rappahannock Civil War Round Table, she would also volunteer at Chatham & Kenmore Civil War Memorials.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Eugene Darr, Jr., and two daughters, Patty Sullivan and Cathy Hall.
She is survived by two sons: Harry E. "Billy" Darr III of Manheim, PA and Michael A. Darr and wife Lee of Fredericksburg, VA; two daughters: Barbara Susie Peregory of Fredericksburg, VA and Amby Taylor and husband Keith of Lumberton; a brother-in-law, Fred Sullivan of Fredericksburg, VA; and nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 4:00-6:00PM at Found & Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA. A memorial service will follow the visitation on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 6:00PM at Found & Sons Chapel in Fredericksburg, VA.
