Joshua Scott Dodson's Obituary
Joshua Scott Dodson, 40 of Culpeper Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2025. He was born to Paula Finneyfrock and the late Timothy Dodson. He is survived by his mother, Paula, and step-father, Claude Finneyfrock; daughter, Savannah (and her mother, Amanda); fiancé, Whitney Vukmanic; grandparents, Linda Dodson and Paul Rose; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Josh could frequently be found on the couch each Sunday, hoping for that Superbowl win. An avid NASCAR fan, Josh loved attending races with his dad Claude, and the late Bob Combs. He was the biggest Earnhardt fan, Josh even got to watch Junior win his first race at Richmond. He loved attending as many races as he could, but no track held his heart like Martinsville.
Josh was a dedicated family man. Savannah was his pride and joy. Whether it was teaching her how to fish, trips to Disney, or learning to ride a 4-wheeler, Josh loved spending time with his "Monkey".
Josh found the love of his life, Whitney. Together they created a storybook romance. Whether they were traveling the country or enjoying the simple pleasure of home in Culpeper, every moment together was a cherished memory. The love they shared for each other was the perfect blend of excitement and comfort. Each day felt like a new chapter in their beautiful story.
Josh was a devoted and loving son who held his parents close to his heart. Whether it was attending races with Dad or sharing laughter over games with Mom, he treasured every moment with them. Their example inspired him to strive to be the kind of parent and partner they were - kind, supportive, hard-working, and FULL of love. His deep affection for them was evident in every call, always ending with a heartfelt "love you".
Now he rests in heaven waiting for the rest of us.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
We welcome all who knew him to join in celebrating the life of a man who was deeply loved and will be incredibly missed. Please join us to celebrate his life on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Found and Son Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
