Josephine Tsai's Obituary
Josephine Tseng Tsai, 59, formerly of Terre Haute, IN and Bloomington, IN returned home to the Lord on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA.
Born in Mou Shek, China on February 12, 1949 and residing in Hong Kong until 1974, Ms. Tsai is the daughter of Benjamin Tseng and Ethel H.I. Lyly Yu. Upon coming to the United States, she made her first home in Atlanta, GA where she gave birth to her son before moving to Terre Haute, IN where she lived for over 20 years. She was a homemaker, devoted mother of two and member of St. Joseph and St. Benedict Catholic Church. On July 8, 1998, at the age of 48, she had a debilitating stroke. She spent the next 9 years in Bloomington, IN at Bloomington Hospitality House close to and greatly loved by her children. She became of member of St. Paul Catholic Center while there.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Thomas Tsai and his wife, Dr. Jana Bertke-Tsai, and daughter, Dr. Angela Tsai, who previously resided in Bloomington IN and Terre Haute, IN, currently in Fredericksburg. She also leaves behind her beloved “grandchildren” dogs, Jordan, Parker, and Oscar until the day she becomes a true grandmother.
