Josephine C. Sumpolec's Obituary
Josephine C. Sumpolec, 73, of Fredericksburg passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at her home.
Josephine worked at J.C. Penney Company as a personnel supervisor for 25 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Josephine is survived by her husband of 51 years, Walter John Sumpolec; two sons, Jeff Sumpolec and his wife, Sarah and David J. Sumpolec and his wife, Tracy, all of Spotsylvania County; a daughter, Jacqueline Callas and her husband, Alex of Centreville; two sisters, Katherine Marro and her husband, Daniel of Newark, New York and Rose Bitto of Swoyersville, Pennsylvania and ten grandchildren, Gregory, Philip and Joseph Callas of Centreville, Lydia, Cassandra and Molly Sumpolec and Zachary, Victoria and Dylan Sumpolec and Kyle Ackley, all of Spotsylvania.
Josephine’s family will receive friends Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 10:30am at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1009 Stafford Avenue, Fredericksburg with Father Bjorn Lundberg officiating. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Josephine’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Peter G. Callas Memorial Golf Day for MDA, 11800 Sunrise Valley Drive, Suite 1210, Reston, VA 20191.
