Josephine Duncan's Obituary
Mary Josephine Hawkins Duncan went to be with her Lord on Wednesday evening, Oct. 27, 2010. She was born in Scrapple, VA on March 25, 1919 to the late Jesse and Mamie (Weaver) Hawkins.
She was the greatest mom in the world and a wonderful grandmother. She had an unending love for her Savior and Lord, her family, and her beloved church family at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church where she faithfully served for many years.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years Frank, son Franklin, brother Jack Hawkins, grandson Philip and daughter-in-law Nance.
Josephine is survived by her sons Phil and Bill (Linda), daughter Gwen (Don) Padgett, brother William Hawkins; 11 grandchildren Don (Val) Padgett, Tammy (Rick) Jones, Michael (Teresa) Padgett, Tracie (Bobby) Lynch, Terri (Brian) Bagley, Trisha Duncan, Drew Duncan, Bethany (Kyle) Cayton, Chad Duncan; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found & Sons Funeral Home, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
Services will be held on Wed. Nov. 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dallas Smith and Pastor Phil Duncan officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Phil and Bill Duncan, Don and Michael Padgett, Chad Duncan, Freddie and George Butler.
