Joseph Henry Weins (Joe) 88 of Partlow Virginia, born November 3, 1925 entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 24, 2014.
Joe served in the US Navy aboard the USS Scania. He retired from Sheet Metal Workers local 100 in 1987. He attended St. Matthew Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion Post 131.
Pop enjoyed the outdoors, camping and spending time with family and friends.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ann C. Weins; six children, Lorraine Seymer (Benjamin) of Baltimore, Victoria Carrell (David) of Woodford, Deborah McIntosh (Richard) of Falmouth, VA, Timothy Weins (Debora) of Delaware, Joseph John Weins (Sonya) of Partlow, Mary Love of Fredericksburg; Daughter-in-law Lori D Weins of Gambrils, MD; Twenty-Two grandchildren; Twenty-Five great-grandchildren; Sister, Mary Finizio of Auburn, NY; special friends Bill and Tracy Maddox.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; Henry and Anna Weins of Auburn NY; his son Dennis; grandson, George D. Snyder; great-grandson, Preston Scott Funes of Fredericksburg; two brothers, Henry Francis of Tucson AZ and Robert Henry Weins of Auburn NY
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday October 28, with prayers being said at 6 followed by reflections by friends and family at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel – Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Rd., Fredericksburg.
Burial will take place at a later date.
