Joseph Thomas Thompson, Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph Thomas “Daddy Joe” Thompson, Jr., 73, of Fredericksburg passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Joseph was a commercial waterman, avid fisherman and crabber. He enjoyed coaching and watching his children and grandchildren play sports; and he was a fan of NASCAR #88 Dale Earnhart, Jr.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 38 years, Vida Ruth Thompson; his sons & daughters-in-law, Todd and Teasha Thompson, Kevin and Shelia Shadle, Barry and Lanette Thompson, Kristopher and Jessica Thompson, Brent and Renee Thompson, and James and April Thompson; his father and stepmother, Joseph and Mary Thompson, Sr.; brother, David Thompson; sister, Judy Jones; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his cat, Baby Kitty.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Madeline Thompson.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Fredericksburg.
In lieu of flowers, Joseph’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
