Joseph E. Pfeifer, Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph E. Pfeifer, Jr., 81, of Locust Grove, VA died on January 15, 2019 at Lake Taylor Hospital in Norfolk, VA after an extensive illness. He was born in Chicago, IL to Joseph Pfeifer, Sr., and June M. Pfeifer. He entered the US Navy upon graduation from Watertown High School in 1955 completing a 20 year career followed by an additional 18 years with the Department of the Navy as a civilian.
Mr. Pfeifer is survived by his wife, Patti, children; Michael (Jennifer) of Michigan, Douglas (Terri) of Missouri, JoAnna (Chris) of Michigan, and Joseph III of Wisconsin; step children; Duane Breisch (Susan), Andrew Breisch (Kelly), and Amy O’Reilly (Frank) of Virginia; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was a member of the American Legion, Vietnam Veterans Association, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burton-Hammond Post 2524 where he called bingo for 25 years and served in various official capacities. On Sundays from May through October he could be found at The Flying Circus Aerodrome in Bealeton, VA.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 12 to 1 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
Joseph will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Culpeper National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Burton-Hammond
