Joseph Andrew Miklos' Obituary
Joseph Andrew (Joey) Miklós, age 53, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 at his home in Reva, Virginia.
He was born on March 30, 1970 in Pataskala, Ohio to Samuel and Elinor Miklós.
Joey attended Watkins Memorial High School in Pataskala where he was on the football and the track teams. He was recruited to Indiana University track team where he threw hammer and discus. Joey shared his father Sam’s fascination with flying and he earned a pilot’s license. He also earned his commercial pilot’s license in Washington state. He served honorably in both the United States Army Reserve and in the United States Navy. He played rugby for the All Navy Rugby Team and also the Augusta Rugby Club in Augusta, Georgia. Joey fenced épée for the Augusta Fencers Club. Following his service, Joey accepted a position with Acclaimed Technical Services and moved to Reva, Va. His interests ranged widely and included woodworking, baking, and racing his BMW. He discovered a love of competitive shooting and stage design and was active in the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) and the International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE). He very much enjoyed traveling through his beloved Ohio with Brad Hales, chatting college football while serenaded by an endless stream of 80’s tunes. Joey served on the Church Council of Reformation Lutheran Church and also on the Real Estate committee there.
He was a doting and beloved husband, a loving son and brother, and a loyal friend. How fortunate those of us who knew him were!
