Joseph Edward McLaughlin, 59, passed away on February 7, 2025.
Joey was a man who deeply touched everyone he met with his sense of humor and his compassion. People often described his presence as someone who made others feel safe to be themselves. He never judged others and inherently wanted to spread love or a helping hand. Joseph was a brilliant musician who played guitar and was a musical inspiration to so many.
He was the devoted father of daughter Shannon McLaughlin, of King George, VA, son, Michael McLaughlin, of Port Charlotte, FL; and grandson, Leo Michael Edward McLaughlin. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia McLaughlin, of Port Charlotte, FL, sister Maureen McLaughlin, of Arlington, VA, brothers, Edward McLaughlin, Jr. of Fredericksburg VA, Patrick McLaughlin, of Linthicum, MD, and his long-time partner, Kimberly Allen, of Martinsburg, WV.
Joey was preceded in death by his father, Edward Francis McLaughlin.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Rd, Fredericksburg.
