Joseph Mayers
Joseph Mayers, 76, of Spotsylvania County died Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Mary Washington Hospital. He was born in New York to the late Douglas and Beatrice Mayers.
He retired from the US Navy after 30 years as Lt. Commander serving during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion. He was a logistics engineer government contractor.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Thelma; a daughter, Yolanda Mayers; two sons, Thomas Harveson and David Mayers; one sister, Ruth Joseph; two grandchildren, Connie and Christina and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Mayers.
