Joseph loved painting, going fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
He leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Lillian Kerns; two sons, Thomas Kerns and Justus Morrett; three daughters, Margaret Jett, Stacy Balderson, and Jessica Payne; and six grandchildren Jada, David, Remy, Grayson, Jazlyn and Brayden.
