Joseph Richard Curtis' Obituary
Joseph Richard Curtis, 69, a lifelong resident of Culpeper, VA, went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2024.
A quiet, shy, generous man with a sarcastic streak, Joe made a career of driving tractor trailers for over forty years, which he loved. He was a very patriotic man who loved his Lord, his country, and his music. His deepest love was providing for his family.
Joe leaves behind his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Curtis; his three daughters, Sarah-Jean Marie Curtis, Patricia Joy Curtis, and Jordan Michelle Curtis; one son, Timothy Jacob Curtis; and one granddaughter, Hailey Marie Stewart. Also surviving are his sisters, Susan Calamos (John) and Mary Ellen Hutchind (Charlie); a brother, Benjamin F. Curtis, Jr. (Amy); two nephews, Charlie-Benjamin Hutchind (Karen) and Nicholas Curtis Hutchind (Jessica); and three nieces, Kathrine Curtis Osborne (Tom), Angeline Leigh Perrott, and Molly Suzanne Hutchind.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin Curtis, Sr. and Jean Haught Gulley Kerns Beahm; and a nephew, Dustin John Perrott.
Pallbearers serving the family will be Dale Yancey, Billy Hutcherson, Danny Ward, John Mulliniks Jonathan Deane, and Greg Keys, with one honorary pallbearer, Steven Pilkerton.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. with Pastors Dale Freeman and Benjamin Short officiating.
Interment will follow at Haught Gulley Family Cemetery, and a reception will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, Madison, VA.
