Joseph (Papa Joe) Coleman Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph Bernard Coleman, Jr., 79, of Spotsylvania County passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Joseph loved the outdoors, gardening and fishing and was a fan of the Washington Redskins.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Virginia Coleman; a daughter, Marilyn Banks and her husband, Thurman of Fredericksburg; three sons, Joseph B. Coleman, III of Spotsylvania County, Robert E. Coleman of Woodstock and Charles S. Coleman and his wife, Diane of Warrenton and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Sylvannah Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis A. Woodward officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Joseph’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in his name to Sylvannah Baptist Church, P.O. Box 906, Spotsylvania, VA 22553-0906.
