Joseph Edward Bailey, Sr.'s Obituary
Joseph Edward Bailey, Sr., 76, of Culpeper died unexpectedly Sunday, August 4, 2019 at his residence. He was born November 13, 1942 in Culpeper to the late John and Savilla Scott Bailey.
Mr. Bailey was an active member of Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department for over 10 years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Bailey; three children, Joseph E. Bailey, Jr., Michael Bailey (Kelly), and Geoffrey Bailey (Kimberly); two brothers, Robert Bailey (Barbara), and Jerry Bailey (Joyce); sister-in-law, Joann Bailey; and 12 grandchildren, Joshua Bailey (Selina), Michael J. Bailey, Kristen Bailey (Benjamin Hulvey), J.T. Bailey (Tiffany), Victoria Peters (Brandon), Jordan Bailey (Trinity), Brittany Cagle (Charles Swisher), Heather Bailey, Chad Bailey (Erin), Travis Thomas (Sophie), Taylor Thomas (Kelly), and Amber Bailey.
Additional survivors include 12 great grandchildren, Hailey Bailey, Eloise Hulvey, Matilda Hulvey, Caroline Peters, Seth Bailey, Ian Bailey, Bobby Swisher, Leelynd Martin, Hayden Lamb, Tyler Bailey, Payton Thomas and Cambrie Thomas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Bailey and Thomas Bailey.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lee Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
