Jonathan Johnson's Obituary
On Thursday, March 8, 2007, Jonathan Johnson of Philadelphia, PA but formerly of Culpeper, VA went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
J.J. was born in Remington, VA on May 21, 1954 to Clarence H. Johnson and Martha Blanche Johnson.
Survivors include his parents, both of Culpeper, four brothers, Clarence H. Johnson, Jr., Theodore Johnson of Culpeper, James O. Johnson and his wife, Tina, and Christopher L. Johnson and his wife, Alice of Philadelphia, PA, four sister, Martha Lorraine Sprangle and her husband, Frank of Philadelphia, PA, Gwen Caston and her husband, Willie of Houston, TX, Loretta Jenkins and her husband, William, and Melissa Spillman and her husband, Ronnie of Culpeper, VA.
Additional survivors include twelve nephews, Troy, Ike, Marcus, Calvin, Mike J., Pee Wee, Elliott, Tony, Christian, Jeremy, James, and Jerome, eleven nieces, Yvette, Dara, Nona, Wendy, Anitra, Candy, Gwen, Julietta, Sabrina, Rosa, and Jylian, a very special aunt, Grace Johnson, his closest friend, his dog “Seymore”, and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Preceding J.J. in death were his favorite uncles, Dick Frye and Philip Johnson.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701 with Rev. Howard Frye officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Nazareth Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donald Carpenter, Charles Hoffman, Jerry Hoffman, David Hoffman, David Butler, and Neal Simpson. Honorary pallbearers will be Sherman Slaughter, Dallas Noakes, Richard Noakes, and William Noakes.
