Jon Warren Yowell's Obituary
Jon Warren Yowell, born January 29, 1943, son of Jackson Kerrick and Frances Yowell, died at home in Rixeyville, Wednesday, August 20, 2014, with his son by his side.
He was a graduate of V.P.I. earning a B.S. in Agriculture. In addition to teaching Industrial Arts in Fauquier County, he was a gunsmith at Clark Brothers for much of his life and owned the Rixeyville Store during the 1970's. Jon was a master craftsman and could accomplish anything he set his mind to do.
He is survived by his son, Josh Yowell; his sisters, Sharon Darling and Douglas, and Jacquelyn Search and Donald; two nieces; and one nephew. Also surviving is his former wife and son's mother, Rochelle Lea.
The family wishes to thank his caregivers, Heather Dobson and Karen Chapman, for their devotion, as well as Hospice of The Rapidan.
At Jons's request there will be no funeral service. Interment will be a private ceremony on his farm.
