John "Jay" Wayne Childrey Jr.'s Obituary
On July 1, 2013, John Wayne “Jay” Childrey, Jr. was taken from us too soon. He was born August 14, 1970 in Lynchburg, Virginia.
He was a devoted father, loving son, uncle and brother. He loved to hunt, fish and just enjoy life.
He was raised around farm equipment and loved working on tractors. He decided to make that his career path and had his own business. He worked night and day at his tractor repair business, “Tractor Worx,” and he was known as a Kubota Man.
He is survived by his daughter, Holly M. Childrey, his father, John W Childrey and his mother, June Thompson. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Jay Garver, nephew and niece, Zack and Abby, sister, Michell Hubble and her husband, Bobby, of Rappahannock, nieces Heather M. Henry and Addie Hubble, and beloved friend Jessica Butler. Additional survivors include step-brothers John, Carl and Tommy Grohs, who loved him very much.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Buck and Mattie Childrey, his maternal grandparents, Eddie and Margaret Lacks, and his sister, Kimberly J. Garver.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date in Hat Creek.
