John Hollis Scott's Obituary
John Hollis Scott, 77, of Culpeper, died Monday, April 30, 2007 at Venice Regional Medical Center in Venice, FL. He was born September 16, 1929 to the late Fred and Nellie Davis Scott.
Mr. Scott was a Culpeper resident for thirty two years and was formerly a native of Ohio. He served in the United States Army as an Army Security Agent and was in Military Intelligence. He completed two tours in Korea and two tours in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star. He was later stationed in Germany where he met his wife of forty three years. After his retirement he became a driver for Enterprise Car Rentals for thirteen years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his loving wife, Erika Scott, two children, Sandra Bordessa and her husband, Gary of Valley Ford, CA, and Pamela Scott of Santa Rosa, CA, one sister, Ruth Gallagher of Byesville, OH, two grandchildren, Gino and Jarrid Bordessa, one great granddaughter, Cassidy Bordessa, all of Valley Ford, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Fred Scott.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 5, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 6, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post #330 and VFW Post #2524.
