John Henry Lukhard, III.'s Obituary
John Henry Lukhard, III., 62, of Spotsylvania, formerly of Richmond, passed away on July 4, 2008 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born August 13, 1945, John was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was an avid Redskins fan who loved to debate, travel and enjoyed good food.
John was the Central Virginia Franchise owner of Miracle-Ear Hearing Aid Centers, he also worked for E.A. HolstenWholesalers in the 1960’s. John had owned several Appliance Bargain Mart’s in the North and South sides of Richmond, and he worked for Oakwood Homes. He always stated, E.A. Holsten instilled, his work ethic. John said “With a passion and drive to succeed, you can accomplish all; by surrounding yourself with good, honest, driven individuals and truly caring about what you do, you will succeed.” Everyone who met or came in contact with John will always have a lasting sense of his presence.
John knew that he was loved here on earth, and that even in his passing he will be loved and greatly missed. He is our guardian angel who is looking down on all of us and saying “I’m here and we will be together again soon.”
John was a devoted husband, a loving father; respected and adored by many. He is survived by his adoring wife, Theresa J. Lukhard; his former wife, Joy Lukhard of Richmond, and their daughter, Angela Benton and her husband Phil; his stepchildren, Anthony G., Jay R. and Katie L. Welch, all of Spotsylvania, Tommy Welch of Fredericksburg, and Amanda Tobey of Falmouth; two grandchildren, Taylor and Hannah Tobey of Falmouth; and a sister, Gloria Cathart of Mechanicsville, VA.
