John Edward Brown's Obituary
John Edward Brown, 77, of Culpeper died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Orange County Nursing Home. He was born November 23, 1929 in Culpeper to the late Edward Price Brown and Weda Mae McAllister Brown.
Mr. Brown served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was Head of Commissary for the Army Department at Fort Meyer in Arlington, VA for twenty nine years before moving back to Culpeper in 1986. He was a member of the Culpeper Ruritan Club, V.F.W., and American Legion.
He is survived by his brother, Wayne “Buddy” Brown and his wife, Mary Jane of Culpeper, one nephew, Timothy Wayne Brown, six great nieces and nephews, and several aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gerda Anna Lentz Brown.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 23, 2007 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A graveside service will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery at 11 a.m.
