John Franklin Walker's Obituary
John Franklin Walker, 68, of Culpeper, passed away quietly at home on Thursday, November 5, 2015 surrounded by family.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Laura C. Amill; and his father, Rev. A.C. Walker, Jr. and mother, Margaret Cooksey Walker.
John is survived by his step daughters, Julia McNutt and Natalie Braulick and step-granddaughter, Caroline, all of Texas; his brother, Philip Walker and wife, Cheryl; sister, Judy Reid and husband, Larry; sister, Susan Parker and husband Chris Petersen, all of Culpeper; brother, Mark Walker and his wife, Janet of St. Louis, MO.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was a 1965 graduate of Culpeper County High School and graduated from the University of Virginia in 1970 with a degree in accounting. He worked as a financial auditor for CBS/Disney, Inc. for over 20 years, then at Temple Inland Financial for 5 years until he retired in 2010 and moved back to Culpeper from Austin, TX.
John enjoyed cooking, wood-working, music, his Jaguar, and designing his own home.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7, at 4:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Home in Culpeper, with Rev. Howie Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hope Cancer Center of Culpeper.
