John William Umhau,Jr.'s Obituary
John William Umhau, Jr., 82, of Culpeper died Monday, October 31, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital. He was born February 22, 1929 in Washington, DC to the late John and Bertha Critzer Umhau.
He is survived by five children, Linda Lucas Montgomery of Manassas, Frances Lucas Wilson of Naples, FL, Philip Michael Lucas of Fredericksburg, Joan Lucas Brown of Lignum and Jean Lucas Marshall of Points, WV, thirteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Mae Umhau.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mike Vaughn officiating.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
The family will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Children’s Bible Ministries of VA, Inc., 18301 Sandy Springs, Stevensburg, VA 22741-1731 &/or Thoroughfare Bible Church, 3823 Thoroughfare Rd. Brightwood, VA 22725.
