John Ralph Shifflett's Obituary
John “Johnny” Ralph Shifflett, 88, of Culpeper, died Thursday, April 6, 2023 at his home. He was born March 5, 1935 in Charlottesville to the late Elzie Shifflett and Cletius Halsey.
John enjoyed gardening, tractor pulls, yard work, and bingo. He was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys. John was a wiz at math, and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union # 1665 for 50 years.
He is survived by one son, Randy Shifflett (Liz); one grandchild, Justin Shifflett (Jennifer); two great grandchildren, Jonah Shifflett and Micah Lacy; and two sisters, Lucille Johnson and Francis Raines.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Shifflett and Frank Shifflett; and one sister, Elizabeth Shifflett.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery, 23557 Lignum Rd, Lignum, VA 22726 with Pastor Glenn Shifflett officiating.
