John Martin Payne's Obituary
John Martin Payne, 82 of Culpeper peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feburary 17, 2017 at Amerisist Assisted living in Culpeper. John was born August 31, 1934 in Tazwell, Tennessee to the late Ike Greenlee Payne Sr. and the late Laura Alice Johnston Payne.
John was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church, and worked in the security department for both IBM and Lockheed Martin Manufacturing corporations, until he decided to retire and spend his days with his wife of many loving years, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom they were blessed with to carry on their legacy.
John is survived by his wife Juanita Margaret Beckwith Payne and their two children; Sharon Ann Mullins and her husband Randall of Lignum, Va. and John Douglas Payne and his wife Christine of Vale N.C., five grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
John is also survived by his siblings; Helen, Jeanette, Jack, Tommy, Roy, Jimmy and Gloria.
In addition to his parents John is preceded in death by four siblings; Imogene, Paul, Ike and Frank.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Open Door Baptist Church, 754 Germanna Hwy, Culpeper, with Pastor Bernie Jernigan officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers named will be Kevin Beckwith, Danny Hylton, Joe Hostettler, Chris Mullins, Steven Kramb, Brandon Kramb and Aaron Kramb.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to the Open Dooor Baptist Church, 754 Germanna Hwy, Culpeper Va. 227013
