David Raboin
I had known John for over 21 years. He was not only a great friend, but also a father figure to me. I have many fond memories of playing chess at my house—he would almost always win, but despite being the better player, he never made me feel discouraged.
When we played, I would make apple custard bread pudding with fresh whipped cream, which he especially enjoyed given his Dutch background. John was a wonderful listener who helped me through some challenging times with thoughtful and encouraging advice.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of both a dear friend and my tax accountant. I know how much he cared for Loraine and his family, and my thoughts are with them during this difficult time. David Raboin
