Kathy I’m so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you. I can’t even begin to imagine your pain. I am keeping you and your family in my prayers. We know he’s with the Lord now and you will see him again.

Your wonderful example is one that we all strive to emulate. May God hold your family close and continue to bless them each day. Rest in peace, John.
John was a friend and mentor. I first met John when he was teaching a CMAA Standards of Practice class in Chicago in 2005. He is the one that actually inspired me to become a CMAA course instructor, like him. He also influenced my decision to eventually join CH2M Hill. I figured if someone like John worked there, it had to be a good company! After becoming friends, I learned about his passion for ministry and his love for the Lord. That too, was an inspiration. It was inspiring to meet a colleague in our industry who not only openly expressed his faith, but lived it out. I will be forever grateful for his friendship and his example. I was saddened to hear this news, but I rejoice in the fact that he fought the good fight, he finished the race, and he kept the faith. I can hear our Lord saying to him, “Well done John. Enter into the joy of thy Lord.”
In life you are not always able to choose, (especially neighbors) however, if you could John and his family would be what you hoped for. He has been such a great neighbor but, an even better father and family man. He will be forever missed as our neighbor and by anyone that knows him. We are certain he is walking the streets of heaven offering to snow blow driveways, bringing up garbage cans, and showing support for things he truly believed in with a smile for eternity.

It was heartbreaking to hear the sad news about John. He was supportive, inspiring and calming boss for me on I-66 OTB project. He always was willing to go the extra mile for anyone that worked for him. He is very helpful, caring, and appreciative. He is going to be missed by many of us.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

John mentored me in construction management and impacted my career at CH2M greatly and I will be forever grateful. We had many long thoughtful conversations (probably talked about SEC football more than we should’ve). He was a great man and will be remembered. My sincere condolences to the family – Derek Kelley
