John Randolph Minor's Obituary
Mr. John “Big John” Randolph Minor, of Culpeper, VA, 61, died Saturday, July 1, 2023 at his home. He was born November 19, 1962 to the late Benny Kelly Minor, Sr. & Thelma Minor.
Big John attended Culpeper County Schools. He loved going out and doing whatever work there was with his brothers, spending time with family, fishing and laying bricks with a special friend, Coleman Johnson. John loved the Washington Commanders and listening to the Washington Nationals Baseball team on the radio. He had a thing for cats and the joy of his life was the birth of his daughter.
John enjoyed telling jokes and although half the time they weren't funny, you would still just laugh. He enjoyed making people happy and was known as the fish and salad man, selling watercress salad by the bucket and walking to the ponds in Stevensburg.
John leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Shelicia Minor; two grandchildren, Nevaya Webster and Skylar Hull; one great grandchild, Chanel Coles; four brothers, Benny Kelly Minor, Jr., Ricky Minor, David Minor, and his baby brother, Curtis Minor; one step-sister, Wendy Allen; a special niece, Charmaine Stinnie; a special friend, David Butler; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Jennifer Marie Minor and Brenda Lee Washington.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery, Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Timothy Minor officiating.
Finally Home
Although your work on Earth is done
your life in heaven has just begun
Your struggles here were hard and long
But they’re over now, you’re finally home
Life wasn't easy, by choice or fate
a decision made, sometimes too late
a fighter to the finish always strong
Rest easy uncle you are finally home
