John Daniel Menefee's Obituary
John Daniel Menefee, 64, of Culpeper died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at his residence. He was born November 26, 1947 in Rappahannock County to the late Daniel and Helen Clark Menefee.
Mr. Menefee was a member of Hope Hill Baptist Church and worked 43 years for Rochester Rope/Tyco Electronics. He had a great love for sports especially Virginia football and the Washington Redskins. Above all, he loved his family and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sarah Jewell Menefee, two children, John C. Menefee and his wife, Bonnie of Brightwood and Susan M. Corbin of Madison, two grandchildren, Jacob D. Corbin and Aiden C. Menefee, and three siblings, William Menefee and his wife, Sandy, Bobby Menefee and his wife, Eve and Dorothy Switzer and her husband, Robert, all of Culpeper.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 11 am at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles Harlow, Roy Jewell, Earl Jewell, Jay Jewell, Bobby Menefee and William Menefee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hospice of the Rapidan, PO Box 1715, Culpeper, VA 22701 &/or The V Foundation for Cancer Research, 106 Towerview Ct., Cary, NC 27513.
