John Thomas Keys' Obituary
John Thomas Keys, 78, of Culpeper died Monday, January 9, 2012 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born January 28, 1933 in Herndon, VA to the late Earl Thomas and Mattie Reynolds Keys.
Mr. Keys was the former owner and operator of Keys Heating and Air Conditioning and a member of the Grand Order of the Moose Lodge 1348 in Culpeper. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and carpentry woodworking.
He is survived by five sons, John Thomas Keys, Jr. and his wife, Patsy Dameron of Greenville, VA, Earl Robert Keys and his wife, Bonnie Jane of Culpeper, Mark Zachary Keys and his wife, Betty of Sperryville, Steven Scott Keys and his wife, Ellen of Rochelle, VA and Joseph Jacob Keys and his wife, Deborah of Slate Mills, VA.
Additional survivors include one sister, Shirley May Kidwell and her husband, John of Falls Church, one brother, Earl William Keys and his wife, Rebecca of Fairfax, twelve grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, and his close friend and companion for that past 10 years, Margaret Brown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Frances Keys and one great granddaughter, Isabella Golon.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 3 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Rev. Sandy Martin officiating. A two hour visitation will be held prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 2654 Valley Ave., Suite B, Winchester, VA 22601 &/or Hospice of the Rapidan, P.O. Box 1715, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
