John William Jenkins' Obituary
John “Billy“William Jenkins, 88 of Lignum died Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the Jackson House Assisted Living facility in Boston, VA. Mr. Jenkins was born June 21, 1923 in Rappahannock County to the late Benjamin F. and Florence Jenkins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Settle Jenkins.
Billy was a member and Deacon Lael Baptist Church and he retired from Virginia Department of Transportation as Area Superintendant.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by two sons, Douglas William Jenkins and his wife, Phyllis of Rixeyville and Ronnie Jenkins and his wife, Linda of Culpeper. He is also survived by Joyce Jenkins, the mother of Ronnie’s children.
Additional survivors include 8 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Besides his parents and wife, Billy was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia, one step-son, Robert Jenkins, Sr. and his late wife, Audrey, three brothers, Thomas, Richard and Raymond and four sisters, Alice, Francis, Bertha and Gussie.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 2 pm in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. John W. Lines officiating.
