John Ray Hayes' Obituary
John Ray Hayes, 62, of Fredericksburg, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, February 24, 2019.
Ray retired from Mary Washington College as a painter. He was an avid coin collector, loved fishing, and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.
Ray is survived by his children, Brian Hayes (Erin), Tabatha Hicks (Scotty), and Michael Hayes (Danielle); three grandchildren whom he adored, Shelby, Tyler, and Paisley; two brothers, Wayne and John Hayes; two sisters, Linda Sue Lamont and Judy Lynn Moore; his companion and canine friend, Hunter; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hazel Hayes, a brother, Jimmy Hayes, two sisters, Mary Mills, Charlotte Rakes.
According to Ray’s wish, there will be no services. He will be laid to rest privately at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
