John Joseph Curran Jr.'s Obituary
John J. “Jack” Curran, Jr., 79, of Heritage Hunt in Gainesville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2011.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marlane; three sons, Michael, Christopher (wife Brooke) and John; a sister, Anne and five granddaughters; and was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey.
Mr. Curran was born and raised in Whitestone, Queens, NY. He graduated from St. Augustine H.S., St. John’s University (B.A.), Michigan State University (M.S.), and the University of Chicago (M.B.A.). He had a long and successful career in the flavor and fragrance industry in New York, Chicago and Minneapolis. He was extremely proficient with crossword puzzles, an excellent bridge player, a terrific bowler, an avid sports fan, a talented singer and a lousy golfer. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a good humored companion.
He will be sorely missed by all.
A private memorial service will be held in several weeks.
