John Wayne Beasley Sr.'s Obituary
John Wayne Beasley of Partlow, VA, affectionately known as Wayne, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026.
Wayne was a man of simple pleasures and treasured memories. An avid softball player in his younger years, he loved the game and the friendships it brought him. He also had a passion for hunting and spent many hours enjoying the outdoors. Some of his favorite memories were made working on demolition derby cars alongside his sons when they were young - stories he often shared with a smile and great pride. Playing cards with friends, beach trips with his cousins, and taking the opportunity for dinner and ice cream every chance he got, were just some of his favorite things in life.
Anyone who knew Wayne knew he was a true "piddler." Whether in his garage, or out in the yard, he always had some sort of project to “piddle” with. He was happiest when keeping busy. He found joy in those simple things.
In recent years, some of Wayne's most treasured moments were spent with his granddaughter, KK. They enjoyed thrifting adventures, lunch outings, playing made up games on the front porch, practicing softball - where he introduced her to her love of the sport, and attending early church services together. Those precious moments, he truly enjoyed the most.
Wayne will be remembered for his stubborn determination, his hardworking nature, his love for family, his humor, and the countless stories and memories he leaves behind. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild he loved so dearly.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, John "Robert" Beasley; his mother, Hilda Beasley; and his brother, Charles Beasley. While his family finds comfort in knowing they have been reunited, his absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled.
He is survived by his loving sons, John Beasley Jr. (Jammie), and Jason Beasley (Ashley); and stepdaughter, Jessica Wray. He was a proud grandfather to Robbie Beasley (Molly), Shane Bach, Brayden Beasley, Ryan Beasley, and Kaydence Beasley ("KK"); and a great-grandson, Beau Beasley.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Wallers Baptist Church, 4001 Partlow Road Partlow, VA 22534.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Wallers Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Booth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
