John and Melanie Jablonski's Obituary
Husband and wife, John and Melanie Jablonski of Spotsylvania County passed away just a few days apart having succumbed to illnesses.
The two lived exciting and interesting lives both before and after their marriage. Melanie was a truly gifted artist and crafter. She enjoyed sewing, making jewelry, and worked in the art field for many years as a highly respected buyer due to her extensive knowledge. She brought beauty into her family’s life in the form of art, and even made clothing for her children as she raised them.
It was after Melanie moved from the Bronx, NY to Ft. Lauderdale that she met John. She immediately knew that she loved both John and living near the beach. John was the adventurer of the family. As a young man he backpacked on motorcycle across Europe. When he returned to the states he became an underwater diver and welder for large oceanic expeditions, in search of sunken wrecks and the treasure they held within.
He eventually settled into car sales later in life and it was a great fit for a man that loved to be in social situations. He met everyone with a smile and great conversations, and those that knew him personally called him “JL”. The two were married in 1987 and through the years Melanie’s career offered relocation opportunities from Ft. Lauderdale to Alexandria, to San Francisco, and back to Spotsylvania, where they retired.
They are survived by five children, Shari (Troy), Jesse (Juiwanna), Tammy, Jeff, and Diana. Melanie’s sisters, Adrienne Waterworth (sons, Perry and Andrew), and Laurie Hammell (Brian); and John’s brother, James “Jim” Jablonski Esq. (Kristen). They also leave behind three grandchildren, Amanda, Taryn and Jesse Jr., whom they loved very much.
John and Melanie’s family would like to give special thanks to devoted caregiver to both for the last three years, and Melanie’s best friend, Crystal. As well as, to Candace, who’s tireless and compassionate care brought comfort and many laughs during Melanie’s last three months.
The comfort they provided was amazing and the family is very grateful for all dedicated people from Heartland Hospice led by Valetta RN extraordinaire and the dedicated team at Heartland Hospice, as well as, the CNA’s and LPN who provided such loving care and many hugs as members of Team Melanie.
Their family will receive friends from 11:00 – 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A joint celebration of their lives will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
