Joanne Marie Ibbotson's Obituary
JOANNE LONERGAN-IBBOTSON – On September 20, 2009, Joanne Marie Lonergan-Ibbotson passed away in the comfort of her residence in Manassas, Virginia after a valiant battle against ovarian cancer. Joanne spent a remarkable 34 years as a well-respected educator (teacher and principal) in the Fairfax County School System.
Joanne is the beloved daughter of Edward (deceased) and Eleanor Lonergan, adored mother of Ryan and Megan and proud grandmother of William and Eleanor. She is survived by her dear siblings; Edward, Nancy, Kathleen, and Barbara. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews; Greg, Jeff, Myriah, Monique, Shannon and Melanie. Joanne was pre-deceased by her husband Peter and her brother James.
Joanne’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, September 26 at 12 Noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 12975 Purcell Road, Manassas, Virginia 20112. Per Joanne’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Joanne Ibbotson Memorial Fund, which will provide an education for her current and future grandchildren.
