Joanne Kaufman's Obituary
Joanne Balavender Kaufman, 47, of Spotsylvania County died Friday, December 8, 2006 at her home in Fawn Lake.
Joanne was a loving wife of Kurt Kaufman and mother of Alyssa and Ashley Kaufman. She is also survived by her parents, Jean and Stephen Balavender; her sister, Linda Rich and her husband, Buddy; two nieces, Kelcey and Taylor and her cousins, Sandy, Jim and Mike Olson.
Joanne attended Wilderness Community Church. She was active in the Fawn Lake Community. She was a member of the Ladies Bible Study, Yacht Club, Ladies Bowling and Bingo and a founding member of the Adult Christian Fellowship and the Ski Club.
Joanne was an avid water skier and horse enthusiast. Her family and friends will miss her loving and giving ways. Anyone that knew hew loved her. She was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord. Joanne was an inspiration to all who knew her. She displayed dignity and grace as she battled her illness. Her faith and love for the Lord was unwavering.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 10, 2006 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, corner of Courthouse Road and Southpoint Parkway. A funeral service will be held Monday, December 11, 2006 at 11:00 am at Wilderness Community Church.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Peruvian Mission at the Wilderness Community Church, 10501 Plank Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22553 or donations can be made to Toys for Tots. Joanne would like all children to get a present for Christmas.
