Jo Anne M. Clark's Obituary
Jo Anne M. Clark, 86, of Fredericksburg, VA passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026 at UVA Culpeper. She was born July 12, 1939 in California to the late Arthur and Jeanette Bernfield.
It is with deep love and heartfelt remembrance that we honor the life of a devoted mother and cherished grandmother, whose presence brought beauty, strength, and warmth to all who knew her.
She was a woman of grace and glamour, effortlessly radiant and truly beautiful inside and out. Her strength was like a diamond—unyielding, resilient, and brilliant—guiding her through life’s challenges with quiet courage and dignity.
Her greatest joy came from her family. As a loving mother and adoring grandmother, she lived each day through the lives of her children and grandchildren, celebrating their milestones as if they were her own. She found happiness in watching them grow, supporting their dreams, and surrounding them with unwavering love.
She is survived by her children, Billy Armour (Nancy), James Clark (Michaela) and Jon Clark (David Perlman); grandchildren, Katie Chisholm, Dr. Kristie Armour, Kabrina Maready (Andy), Caity Rogowski, JD (David), Nick Rogowski (Liv), Trey Washington, Nevaeh Washington, J.T. Clark, Andrew Clark and Preston Clark; great grandchildren, Kiera, Andie, Owen, Olivia and Colton and a host of additional family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Jo Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Alton G. Clark and daughter, Laurie Armour.
Her legacy is one of strength, elegance, and deep devotion to family. She will be remembered not only for her beauty and resilience, but for the love she gave so freely and the lives she touched so deeply.
She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
