Jim Fugate's Obituary
Jim R. Fugate, 75, of Culpeper passed away peacefully at Culpeper Health and Rehab Center on Friday, August 29, 2014. Jim was born July 25, 1939 in Russellville, KY to the late John and Jane Fugate.
Mr. Fugate worked for 33 years as maintenance supervisor for the U.S. Department of the Interior. He also proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Specialist 4th class.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Dale City, VA. In his later years he was most proud of the fact that he served the Culpeper Thrift store. Jim was known all over town as ‘’the man with the little white dog. ‘’ Gracie was his pride and joy.
Jim is survived by his wife Judy of Culpeper; his children, Pamela Hebron and her husband Mike of Arlington, TX; Mary Margaret Alford and her husband John of Fredericksburg, VA; Cynthia Helen Heflin of Front Royal , VA ; and Betty Jane Fugate of Indianapolis, IN. In addition he is survived by two stepsons, Thomas Lee Campbell and his wife, Michelle of Port Orange FL; and Charles Reece Campbell and his fiance, Kay Brown of Culpeper, VA.
He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wayne Bernardo and Rev. Don Fugate officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Culpeper National Cemetery, new section.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Culpeper Thrift, 513 Meadowbrook Shopping Center, Culpeper, VA 22701.
