Mr. Jesse H. May's Obituary
Jesse H. May, 75, of Culpeper died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born October 25, 1934 in Madison to the late John Edward and Bertha Garr May.
Mr. May was a member of Culpeper Assembly of God and attended Slate Mills Baptist Church. He loved listening to bluegrass music, refurbishing his antique van and was a painting contractor in the Culpeper area for over 35 years.
He is survived by three children, Kathy Lane and her husband, Russell of Culpeper, Jesse May Jr. and his wife, Sharon of Culpeper and Rev. John W. May and his wife, Denise of Stephens City, VA, one sister, Hazel Dodson and her husband Doug and two brothers, Charlie May and his wife, Peggy and Danny May.
Additional survivors include five grandchildren, Kayla, Benjamin, Lily, Reagan and Ryder May, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Rebecca Leake May, three brothers, Otis, Robert and Kenny May and his sister-in-law, Debbie May.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sandy Martin officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chuck May, Benny May, Travis May, Carl Lane, Larry Cubbage and Pastor Steve Dodson.
