Jerry Spillman Woodward's Obituary
Jerry Spillman Woodward, 66, of Rixeyville was called home to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 05, 2011 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born November 14, 1944 in Rixeyville to the late Elwood S. Woodward and Mary V. Woodward.
Jerry was a hard worker. He retired from William A. Hazel, Inc. and was a member of the Culpeper Moose Lodge and Amissville Full Gospel Church. He had a passion for Bluegrass music and enjoyed entertaining others with his talent. Jerry was well known for playing horseshoes, working on vehicles and his love for the outdoor life. He loved to spend time with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Patsy J. Woodward. He is also survived by a son, Gary S. Woodward of Reva and his fiancé, DeAnn Ketchem, and two daughters, Patsy Elaine Cropp and her husband William of Culpeper, and Sandra Woodward of Rixeyville. Additional survivors include six grandchildren, Amanda Brooks, Matthew and Miranda Cropp, Gary S.Woodward, Jr., and Kayla and Kimberly Ketchem. He is also survived by a sister, Shirley A. Settle, and a brother, Randolph Woodward, both of Rixeyville.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. L. D. Savage and Pastor Dallas Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at the Woodward family cemetery on Woodward Lane in Rixeyville.
Pallbearers will be Robert Boyd, James Lang, Eddie Wright, Donnie Foster, Sam Nicholson, Roy Crane, Ricky Fant, Charles Pullen and David Pullen.
