Jerry Lee Veeney's Obituary
Jerry Lee Veeney, 59, of Rapidan died Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at his residence. He was born November 20, 1955 in Culpeper to the late Carroll and Mary Thompson Veeney.
Jerry loved roller skating, baseball, basketball and especially football and was crazy about the Cowboys. Every Sunday he was waiting up on his Cowboys to come on and he always used his favorite word “Yooo!” Jerry would always lend a hand to help anyone and he will be remembered as a great man who loved his family and friends.
He is survived by seven siblings, Carolyn Wormley, Denise Gavin and her husband, Butch, Diane Butler and her husband, John, Lester Veeney, Lindell Veeney and his wife, Mary, Steve Veeney and Michael Veeney; and sister-in-law, Aliese Veeney, all of Culpeper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jerome Veeney; one niece, Latisha Butler; and one brother-in-law, George Wormley.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Rev. Lawrence Hutchinson and Rev. Dr. Kenneth Pitts officiating. A one hour visitation will be held prior to the service.
The family will have a private interment at a later date.
Pallbearers will be John Butler, Jr., Tremel Washington, Lindell Veeney, Jr., Jerome Veeney, Jr., Mike Veeney and Marlon Veeney. Honorary pallbearers will be Shelton Washington, Rodney Thompson, Justin Veeney, Odie Veeney and Travis Veeney.
