Jerry William Richardson Jr.'s Obituary
Jerry W. Richardson, Jr. (91), originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, but a current resident of Spotsylvania County, Virginia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 1, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was a man of faith and enjoyed reading his Bible and listening to Gospel hymns. When he was younger, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and dancing. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Washington Nationals fan.
Jerry loved his country and served in the United States Navy for one term. He had a strong work ethic and worked tirelessly to support his family. He retired from Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company after 33 years of service. After which, he worked as a ground’s maintenance man at Indian Acres for 15 years.
Jerry was a devoted husband and a caring father. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Mary Louise Richardson; one son and three daughters from his first marriage: Carl “Lee” Richardson (Angie); Sherri Palmer (David), Kimberly McBee, and Pamela Amorosi (Craig); one daughter that they shared, Teresa Mastin; and two stepdaughters: Tammy Simpson (Frank) and Tracy Taylor (Richard); 40 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was predeceased by: his mother, Hilda Belden, his father, Jerry Richardson, his son Jerry William “Billy” Richardson III (Carol), stepson, Matthew Baur, grandsons Seth Richardson and Baby Paul; and three siblings.
The family is deeply saddened by Jerry’s passing but trust that he is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and is at peace.

Jerry’s family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2022 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
